Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces about holding the contest for grant funding for research on the 2015-2017 years. Grant financing is an important step in the development of national science. JSC "National Center of Science and Technology evaluation" (NCSTE) gathered all the scientists and job seekers in Almaty and held a conference to explain the nature and content of grant funding in the large conference room of "National Centre for Scientific and Technical Information" (NCSTI).
Especially came from Astana Senior Expert for research and innovation activities of the Committee of Science Arystan Imangaziev and President of JSC "NCSTE" Asanbai Jumabekov shared their thoughts and answered in details questions of scientists.
According to the new requirement recommended research projects by scientists primarily will be evaluated in JSC "NCSTE." To do this, scientists must correctly fill in project and to hand over necessary documents. During the meeting, President of JSC "NСSTE" Asanbai Jumabekov explained the situation:
Application for grant funding is submitted at state, Russian and English languages. To evaluate research projects, we invite independent experts from other countries. This requirement is to familiarize foreign scientists with scientific work. Applications must be submitted in hard copy and electronic form, in duplicate. Application for grant funding must include information on the length of the project or program, but no more than three years. Amount of funds requested, necessary for the implementation of the project shall not exceed:
- For basic scientific research - 30 million tenge per year;
- For applied scientific research - 60 million tenge per year.

At the meeting scientists asked questions. A. Jumabekov said that heads of organizations have the right to be scientific director or performer in no more than two projects. During the meeting, scientists tryied to learn, expense allocating for the equipment for the project of the overall project what percentage is applied. This question was answered Senior Expert for research and innovation activities of the Committee of Science Arystan Imangaziev:
Expenditures for the purchase of equipment shall not exceed twenty percent of the claimed amount of the grant funding for the entire duration of the project.
Features of grant funding is the ability to do research for young scientists and job seekers. According to the new requirement in the implementation of a research project Science Committee commits to attract young scientists in a defined volume. It deserves special attention.
